Fhear's Fury Is Here — Welcome to The Lumina Saga

She was raised to be a weapon. He was born to be her ruin.

After years of living in my head, after more rewrites than I can honestly count, Fhear's Fury — Book 1 of The Lumina Saga — is officially here.

If you've been waiting for this one, thank you for your patience. If you're just meeting Fhear now, buckle up.

What it's about

Lumina is a city built by powerful men — winged fae who rule from above and a ruthless king, Jade Mason, who keeps the systems running. Fhear was never meant to survive. She lives in the shadows of that empire, where rebellion simmers and secrets move through the streets like electricity.

When a mission meant to change everything places her directly in the path of Jade, their collision ignites a dangerous game of power, politics, and attraction.

He was supposed to stop her.

She was supposed to destroy everything he built.

Instead, they become the most dangerous thing in the city.

What readers are saying

"Fhear is the kind of heroine you root for from the first page." — ARC Reader
"Dark, addictive, and impossible to put down." — Early Reviewer
"The tension between Fhear and Jade is electric." — Goodreads

Where to order

The signed edition is available exclusively through my official store. Hand-signed by me, shipped from the author, and never sold signed on Amazon or in bookstores. Signed copies are prepared in small batches — once a run sells out, restocks take weeks.

Every signed order also ships with an exclusive double-sided bookmark you won't find anywhere else.

→ Order Fhear's Fury, signed by the author

Prefer digital? Fhear's Fury is also available on Kindle — where the book has already crossed 10,602 pages read and climbing.

A note about this series

The Lumina Saga is its own world — distinct from The Mōsa Chronicles, though they share a few quiet thematic threads readers of both will catch. Where The Mōsa Chronicles is Caribbean-inspired high fantasy with dragons and a cursed crown, The Lumina Saga is neon-soaked dystopian romantasy — winged fae elite, a fierce Afro-Latina heroine who refuses to bow, and an enemies-to-lovers arc that cracks wide open by the midpoint.

Two worlds. One author.

If you want to stay close to this release, the Mōsa Insider Newsletter is where I'll drop exclusive scenes, bonus lore, and early news on Book 2.

Thank you for being here for this one. It means everything.

Welcome to From the Author's Desk

A letter from my desk to yours.

If you're reading this, you found your way here through the dark-starry door of Transea, through the neon-lit streets of Lumina, or through a link in my newsletter that pulled you further than you expected. Either way — welcome. I'm so glad you're here.

I'm Ligia N. Cushman, a Dominican-American romantasy author, and this is From the Author's Desk. It's the place where I'll be opening the drawer on everything that doesn't quite fit into a newsletter or a social post — release notes you can bookmark, deep-dives into the characters who live rent-free in my head, and letters about what it's actually like to write two dark-fantasy romance series while holding down a full-time life.

What you'll find here

Four kinds of posts, most weeks:

  • Release News — launches, pre-orders, signed editions, limited bundles. If a book is dropping or a special edition is going live, you'll see it here first.
  • Character Lore — the side of Fhear you only meet in chapter twelve, the reason Jade Mason wears gloves, the street in Lumina I redrew six times. Spoilers always flagged.
  • Author Life — my Dominican-American heritage in the worldbuilding, the writing routines that actually work, the events I'm taking the books to, and the behind-the-scenes of making each title look the way it does in your hand.
  • Bookish Extras — playlists, aesthetic boards, recipes from Transea, ARC reader spotlights, and the occasional tarot pull for a side character.

Where to start if you're new

Two series, two moods:

If you want Afro-Latina-coded fantasy romance with enemies-to-lovers tension and a slow-burn political thriller spine, start with Fhear's Fury, Book 1 of The Lumina Saga. It just released, and readers are already calling it "dark, addictive, and impossible to put down."

If you want Caribbean-inspired high fantasy with dragons, a cursed crown, and a heroine who refuses to stay hidden, start with Rise of a Dark Throne, Book 1 of The Mōsa Chronicles. Over 354,000 pages have been read on Kindle alone.

Not sure which one calls to you? The homepage has a quick "Where Do You Want to Begin?" quiz-button that'll point you toward the right world.

Stay close

The heart of everything still lives in the Mōsa Insider Newsletter. Subscribers get the prequel novella Shadows of Sundom for free, plus early news on special editions, cover reveals, and the occasional bonus scene I'll never post anywhere else.

And if you want to chat in real time, you can find me on Instagram, TikTok, and Threads — all @ligiawrites.

Thank you for being here. For choosing these books. For showing up for indie fantasy romance. It means more than I know how to say.

More soon —
